With only one more day in Buenos Aires, we decided to get out and see a few of the attractions, obviously more shopping, and tried two more restaurants in the hood......my favourite Cafe Cocco, with great coffee and desserts to die for. We miscalculated the distance between our targets and treated ourselves to a cab ride .......very interesting to be on a six lane wide avenue where nobody really cares where the lines are, but our cabbie weaved his way through without a problem, and only a couple of near death experiences. Highlights of the tour were the beautiful rose garden, the cemetery where Eva Peron's (Evita) family crypt is located, and a gorgeous stainless steel flower that slowly opens in the morning with the sunrise and closes slowly at the end of the day with the sunset, but a local gal told us in her best English "It's doesn't work.......welcome to Argentina".

For such a short visit, it was hard to really get a handle on what Buenos Aires is all about, but clearly this is a huge city with lot's going on. We liked our neighbourhood, and things really livened up today with the two day holiday at an end. Hate to say it, being a dog lover, but a lasting memory will be the number of dogs there are in town. Everyone seems to have a dog, and there are plenty of loners just wandering the streets, but the real memory is that nobody picks up after their dog. Some sidewalks were like mine fields. I would have taken a picture but that would have been a shitty thing to do.
We are off tomorrow, heading to Zapallar on the coast........next instalment from there.
Trip looks amazing so far. I loved Casa Wilson area. Happy New Year!
